French-Lao supporting project of Nabong agriculture college, 1993-1997
This project was financed by the French Ministry of Foreign affairs. Its aim was to raise agricultural education standards by improving teaching and teacher training and to promote pedagogical research in Nabong agriculture college. Through this project, teachers of Nabong college received a strong support from French experts to delve deeper their courses' topic and set up new research protocols. 5 of them could benefit from a long-term training in France while 20 others benefited from individual training and seminaries. Thanks to this project, teachers from Nabong agriculture college could increase their proficiency, offering a better education to their students then. basic equipment was provided as well for the lab, the library and the school administration.
Improving education in the agriculture area was a key objective for CCL to help Lao pdr move forward. CCL set up a new ongoing project to facilitate the transformation of the Higher school of Agriculture of Nabong into a Faculty and to define a new educational program (1997-2000). The French-Lao supporting project of Nabong agriculture project entered its third phase in 2001 with another supporting project for the faculty of agriculture of Nabong (2001-2005).
Technical assistance & integrated cooperation programm with Mahosot public hospital, Vientiane, 1993-2001
The cooperation program with Vientiane's public hospital was launched to rehabilitate and modernize the hospital system and the public infrastructures. Established in 1910 by French medical doctors, Mahosot hospital was the first hospital of all Lao PDR. The action of CCL started in Mahosot in 1993 and ended in 2001, after renewed projects. In 1993, CCL massively invested in the renovation and equipment of Mahosot, focusing on the surgery unit, the intensive care and anesthesia departments.
Our support to Mahosot hospital lasted a long time. It had to be stopped in 2001 because of a lack of funding. All in all, brand new emergencies have been created, the medical staff has elarged its capacities thanks to long-term training and hygienic conditions have considerably been improved. A medical science syllabus was set up. This is still going on in Mahosot hospital with a classroom dedicated to trainees and practice.

The Sustainable food security project in Phongsaly was completed in 2014. it aimed to improve the food and nutritional status of numerous communities over a long-term period. The project benefited to 10 177 people from 39 villages, located in the uplands of Nhot Ou, province of Phongsaly. The beneficiaries stem from different ethnic groups, Yao, Kheu, Akha and Ho communities.
After 5 years of project activities, the inhabitants of the 39 target villages showed a marked improvement in their eating behavior at home. Our LANN method combined diverse training on nutrition, agriculture techniques and natural resources management. It had a very positive effect within the communities, enabling the households to reinforce the daily food intake and the diet. Up to 1700 people took part to the LANN training. Many women were sensitized and could be trained with 45,99 % of women participation rate.
This project had a very significant impact on the ethnic minority groups' of Nhot Ou, enabling a large number of people to adopt good agriculture practices, better nutritional habits, improving their livelihoods and their food security at the same time.
